Welcome to our second annual Jazz Arts & Blues Festival, which we are pleased to announce will also include the opening of the Pohutukawa Festival.

Last year the sheer quality of music provided by over 100 musicians was always apparent; their joy and enthusiasm proved infectious. Some 15 Café's and Restaurants all over town will again be vibrating to the sounds of music. Our Jazz Boat will once again be transporting happy voyagers up and down the harbour and along the sea front, with a glass of wine on offer to the sound of jazz, blues and folk.

Again this year we will be running a number of art exhibitions climaxing with a Grand Art Auction on the Sunday afternoon at Harrisons Gallery on Port Road.

The main stage on the Saturday afternoon from noon to 6:00 pm will be a celebration of New Zealand musicians providing the best of Jazz and Blues. SARAH BRADLEY of TV One's Morning Show will be displaying her singing talent. Also Frank Sinatra inspired LLOYD KYD will be fronting one of last year's big successes THE QUEEN CITY BIG BAND. Amongst others appearing on stage will be: GOOD OIL, RACHEL HOPE, MIKE BOOTH TRIO, RIVERHEAD SLIDE, JAZZ INSPIRED, NADJA and MILES AHEAD.
